Since 2003, as part of the JAS global network, we have serviced the Israel market. We have been working with our exclusive agent structure, Krief Albatros, who has been our partner in Israel since the beginning. Specializing in the Projects - Oil & Gas vertical, we have the service capabilities to provide turnkey solutions that include customs brokerage into Israel, as well as cargo insurance and inland transport. JAS understands the importance of the Israel marketplace and wants you to know we have the experience, people, and resources to help.
With offices in Israel that include Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion, Haifa, Rishon LeZion, TLV airport and Ashdod, we have access to the specialized equipment to manage any size project. JAS also has partnered with Krief Albatros as they are the only Israeli logistics provider certified for ISO 9001:2009 in the domain of Oil and Energy.

With an entire division dedicated to Projects – Oil & Gas, we have proven experience with logistics services such as shore-base inventory management, local purchase and complete warehouse management. Our Israeli footprint works in conjunction with our Israel desk in New Jersey. Our NJ desk is dedicated to the U.S.- Israel trade lane with weekly consolidated shipments, as well as the ability to prepare the necessary export documents which are an Israeli Authority requirement.
Completed projects from 2009 to 2016 include industry specific projects such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Power and Infrastructure that involved charter vessels and aircrafts, warehouse management, and inland out of gauge transportation. Often times our industry specific clients require our knowledge of Ministry of Energy Licensing, Petroleum laws, and require use of cranes and forklifts in addition to supply management. If implant employees are required for base management to real estate use of an office, yard and warehouse, we can oblige with our 24/7 English speaking staff.
Specialized services include working Saturdays and Holidays where a fleet of vans, trucks and various forklift types are available for use. With offices at both Ashdod and Haifa Ports, we can easily execute because of our proximity for same day delivery, after customs release.
Understanding the needs of our Projects – Oil & Gas and related clients is key. Reach out to either Michael Onorato or Carmen Perez with your Israel inquiry. We can help.
The JAS Projects - Oil & Gas (JAS PO&G) scope of work on this large project was to arrange pre-carriage from the FCA( Free Carrier) Supplier in Italy, arrange full charters to Port Antwerp, and then receive cargo under hook up to the final job site.
This project consisted of several large modules. A few of the largest ones were L31 m x W6.3m x H 6.7m and GWT 170 Metric Tons. To ensure smooth planning and execution of the project, JAS PO&G flew our Project Manager and Transportation Engineer in for a pre-operations meeting and inspection of the freight. JAS PO&G Houston performed a detailed route study to determine the most feasible route, identifying civil work, route improvement, height barriers and permit requirements. JAS PO&G Houston pre-planned and closely coordinated with the Department of Transportation and utility/electrical companies to remove all the barriers and obstructions, in order to expedite permits within a reasonable time frame to meet the project delivery deadline.
All oversized cargo was self-unloaded on stands at Port Chioggia, for safe handling of the cargo and to avoid the high costs of hiring a crane. The JAS client's requirement was to stow all cargo under deck, considering the dimensions and height of the cargo JAS PO&G Houston narrowed down their choice to three carriers who would have suitable ships to accommodate all of this freight under deck. JAS PO&G Houston obtained specifcations of the ship and prepared detailed stowage plans along with the lifting, securing and lashing drawings on the nominated vessel. Our team, including the Transportation Engineer, Project Manager, and Surveyor were in attendance to supervise the loading, securing and lashing operation to ensure it met all safety standards both at the origin and discharge point in Antwerp.
JAS Forwarding is pleased to present the new management team for our important Trade Lane Germany – USA. Benjamin Gundlach, based in Munich, just joined JAS Germany as the new Trade Lane Director for the US beginning in May, 2016. Before he joined JAS Germany, Benjamin worked as Trade Lane Manager in Munich for the last year, right after returning from Atlanta, GA, where he worked as a Trade Lane/Sales Manager also with focus on Germany.
His counterpart, Bjoern Wiede, Trade Lane Director for Germany and based in Atlanta, GA, is a German-educated freight forwarder and has been living in the US for 13 years. Bjoern joined JAS in the beginning of February and most recently worked as Trade Lane Manager for the USA and Europe with a major forwarder.
With Germany being one of the top five trading partners for the USA and the USA being the number one trading partner for Germany, “Made in Germany” as a seal of quality is highly recognized amongst US companies driving exports and imports between both countries. Most German companies have since long established a foothold in the US market and are supplying American companies and consumers with their products and vice versa. The main industries that drive the trade between these economic powers have for several years remained but are not limited to manufacturing, healthcare and chemical, and of course, the automotive industries.
Benjamin’s and Bjoern’s focus will be to intensify JAS customer relations with German and American prospects, develop new business initiatives, and expand the current business relationship with our local and global JAS customer base geared towards their trade lane.
The current customer service oriented setup in both countries, with Air and Ocean services as well as Brokerage solutions, is making JAS a strong and reliable partner for any customer needing freight forwarding services. Besides JAS' own weekly consolidated ocean container, which is routed through our gateway in Hamburg to Charleston, SC we have regular air freight consolidations in place with two or more uplifts per week from the gateway in FRA to IAH, ATL, SFO, ORD and JFK.
Next to intensifying new and current customer relations, the team’s goal is also to increase the existing range of services. The plan is to also implement consolidation services in the USA with regular air freight schedules to Frankfurt and additional consolidated ocean containers to the USA and vice versa.
JAS Germany and JAS USA have committed themselves to push the growth and the customer satisfaction on the USA – Germany trade lane and we are excited to welcome Benjamin and Bjoern to the team to spearhead this initiative.
The biannual JAS Germany management meeting was held May 12 & 13, 2016 in Neu-Isenburg/Germany. 26 participants from all German branches met to evaluate current national and global programs to share best practices and to set priorities for the coming months.
One key topic was the successful roll out of our CargoWise One (C1) System in Germany, effective April 1, 2016. Our globally used software enables JAS Germany to now provide JAS Worldwide Service Standards to all of our customers. Juergen Erdt (JAS MD Germany) said: “To make this roll out a success, we had the full engagement of the JAS Germany employees, together with our overseas colleagues, supporting this important milestone!”
The stand out of the meeting was to welcome the Management teams of China and USA in Germany. The Chinese team was led by Mr. Gabriele Benedetti (CEO JAS China), Mrs. Lavinia Chan (Sales Director Southern China), and Mr. Andrea Azzimonti (Sales Director Northern & Central China), supported by Mr. Bernd Meyer (VP Sales Asia). The USA team was composed of Mr. Adrian Emmenegger (President & CEO of JAS USA), Mr. Tony Romano (VP Sales & Marketing USA), and Mr. Bjoern Wiede (Trade Lane Director).
This joined meeting was the ideal platform to present and strengthen two of the most important trade regions for JAS Germany. The encounter enabled German management to meet personally with key managers and allowed for very constructive conversations on our strategies, our best practices and our next actions to develop our services. With full commitment from all parties, this event will positively impact the development of the JAS Worldwide trade-lane strategy, and continue our reach for total customer satisfaction goals.
With the slow streaming trend initiated by ocean carriers, coupled with unexpected congestion in some of the major ports, the JAS Sea/Air product has been a major cost-saving alternative for many customers across the globe.
When ocean freight becomes too late to supply its customers or factories, Sea/Air service is an alternative instead of paying high cost direct air freight transportation. Dubai is home to one of the world’s largest airports and its unique location makes it the earth’s natural hub.
All major carriers operate directly in and out of the United Arab Emirates, making it an ideal location with a unique cost savings advantage. Combining geographical advantage by linking Asia to the rest of the world, along with outstanding local infrastructure, both DXB and DWC cargo terminals are designed to meet the needs of customers with EFFICIENT AND COST SAVINGS SOLUTIONS.
Whether your cargo is destined for Europe, the Americas or Africa, JAS – through its Jebel Ali & DXB hubs can provide the best quality & price for Sea/Air services. Although limited to specific products, the service is used with great success for e-goods, mid fashion retail and from origins where uplift is scarce.

With the help of JAS’ Government Logistics Services team, the Finnish Air Force was able to temporarily import aircraft equipment to conduct an 18 month training mission at China Lake Naval Air Station, CA. First, aircraft and crew equipment cleared Customs on the flight line of Scott Air Force Base, the initial tech stop in the US. Special thanks to Indira Coomar and Ihab Nakhla for their detailed planning and execution; the process went off without a hitch.
In order to ensure that the naval expeditionary forces stay in the air collaborative effort between the Navy ATAC Program, Marine Corps, and JAS Government Logistics, the team needs to work together and focus on getting the job done the right way.
The Finnish Air Force's main combat fleet consists of Boeing F/A-18C and F/A-18D Hornet multi role fighters. In addition to aircraft, air surveillance radars and a range of simulators are included in the service's inventory.
The training mission runs through December, 2017, so AOG shipments will be a regular occurrence in addition to the routine maintenance activity involved with supporting four fighter jets.
JAS Government Logistics Services include:
Comprehensive & detailed Standard Operative Procedures for safe control of all aircraft assets
“Wheels Up” Customs Clearance to ensure that all Aircraft on Ground (AOG) shipments are not delayed
