JAS USA is happy to announce the hiring of Jun Inomata as Director, Warehouse Operations - Pharma & Healthcare.
With responsibility to align and unify handling procedures for JAS USA’s warehouses, including a special focus on Pharma & Healthcare processes, Jun brings more than 25 years of logistics industry experience and numerous impressive professional operations, compliance, and temperature-controlled handling certifications.
As a member of the USA Corporate team, Jun will work out of the Chicago branch office.

JAS Worldwide, the global freight forwarding services provider headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is pleased to announce that it has signed a Share Purchase Agreement to acquire Greencarrier Freight Services International AB, the freight forwarding, logistics, and supply chain management division of Greencarrier Group, once all regulatory approvals have been obtained from the relevant authorities.
Headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, Greencarrier Freight Services International operates through offices in 11 countries with 800 employees. Greencarrier offers smart and sustainable logistic solutions and supply chain management services.
Marco Rebuffi, CEO of JAS, said, "Through the acquisition of Greencarrier Freight Services, JAS is making a strategic acquisition to add to its position in the Nordic, Baltic, and Eastern European regions and strengthen existing operations in UK and China. Our respective organizations have enjoyed a longstanding partnership, and we fully expect this to be a continuation of that great atmosphere of cooperation and shared entrepreneurial spirit."
The completion of this acquisition will close an important phase in the history of JAS - a phase that has seen the company make four acquisitions in one year, each in a different region and each designed to enhance JAS’ presence and ability to serve its clients. Following the anticipated closing of the deal, the company will focus on bringing all of the acquired companies into the JAS family.

One brilliant suggestion that came from our first Virtual Branch Managers Meeting, is the desire for enhanced knowledge sharing. As the management team, we agree it is important to create more visibility when it comes to achievements across the whole subsidiary and to support that, we have created this new initiative “Branch Spotlight” each month a branch will be chosen highlighting their achievements, we aim to inspire and develop relations.This month I have chosen JAS Chicago!
I would like to share with you some of the advancements taking place in JAS Chicago, since January 2017 our Chicago Branch has grown immensely, we are now operating with over 65 full-time employees. I am very happy with the fact that, the majority of our managers started off as operators and have grown and developed into excellent department managers whom we rely on as an essential part of the JAS USA organization.
Early 2019, we made the decision to focus on Talent Management & Training, making it a key objective for our subsidiary, across all levels. This development has gone hand in hand with our desire to restructure the responsibilities of our department managers especially those in larger branches, no longer handling files but focusing on Operator Training and improving the quality of our service, with this alteration we are able to provide our customers with just one point of contact for each shipment, thus providing a fully comprehensive service.
Nonetheless, one of the largest developments took place this year as a result of striving to provide a quality service for our customers through the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, our weekly Charter Flight Operations.
March 2020, the Chicago Branch developed from a mid-size branch into a major JAS hub, the Chicago Team plays an essential role in breaking down our transatlantic flight cargo and distributing within our network. I believe offering this new service has strengthened the Chicago Team and improved the way in which we operate as a subsidiary, I have observed some of the finest alignment between Sales and Operations, truly working in a cohesive and committed manner.
October 2020, we announced additional weekly Flight Operations, Chicago – Atlanta & Miami, this new service will further support customers in the Americas Region, including mid-week departures to LATAM.
With this surge in volume, we have invested in increasing our efficiency, with many suggestions coming directly from our dedicated warehouse team, which happens to be my preferred approach, Bottom-up communication. We value innovative thinking and work hard to implement where possible, optimizing our Chicago warehouse space has significantly enhanced our efficiency.
We used standard gaylord boxes to pre-sort, scan and organize cargo, which consumed much of the warehouse floorspace. With increases in volumes it became necessary to optimize our warehouse space and Luis Delvalle came up with the idea of using collapsible wire containers which are lightweight, stackable, and easy to roll around. This largely reduces the need for gaylord boxes which further supports our environmental efforts as an organization.
We also had the opportunity to further invest by hiring three new salespeople, who are able to develop and support new business through our Chicago hub.
The Chicago Team is an exceptional example of a proactive Branch Manager, with a team that is dedicated, working 7 days a week to meet the needs of our customers during these trying times.

A challenging year for sure, yet we cannot take for granted the knowledge and development gained, I remain optimistic for the future always, we cannot escape from the reality we live in, however I am pleased with the work we are doing, we must continue aggressively protecting and pursuing new business while remaining extremely vigilant.
