About JAS Sweden
After opening its doors in 1994, JAS Sweden strategically expanded to include seven locations throughout the country. Today, the team provides international freight forwarding solutions through various services within ocean, air, rail, and road freight.
JAS Worldwide has built a new pharma and healthcare warehouse outside of Chicago to further expand its offerings to customers in the pharma and healthcare industry.
The new 83,650-square-foot facility includes a temperature-controlled receiving dock with three dedicated dock doors leading directly into temperature-controlled areas. Within this space, there is a roughly 8,000 square foot CRT (controlled room temperature) chamber maintained at +15 to +25°C, as well as a 4,300 square foot cold room designed to handle temperature requirements of +2 to +8°C. To meet the needs of customers requiring even more specialized storage, a -20°C super freezer is available within the cold room.
Arnon Lopes, Sr. Director of Customer Experience, Americas Pharma & Healthcare states, "With 24/7/365 operations led by experienced staff who are GDP trained, our customers have access to the expedited and robust cold chain handling necessary to meet even the most stringent requirements of the pharma and healthcare industry. Our Chicago facility is also the Americas hub for our own freighter network seamlessly connecting Europe and USA."
The strategically located site is only a short distance from O'Hare International Airport, one of the largest U.S. airfreight gateways for cargo, allowing the team to keep supply chains moving. In addition, its geographic position near one of the largest interstate highway systems in the United States is only a 1- or 2-day truck drive away from most of the country's residents.
The facility underscores JAS' dedication to this rapidly growing industry and the customers it serves. "This new GDP-certified facility's close proximity to customers, capacity, and ability to serve a wide range of different temperature needs for our pharma and healthcare client's sensitive products forms a strong foundation for continued strategic growth. We continue to strengthen our global network and connect our valued clients with the services and solutions they need,” comments Giancarlo Rosselli, Vice President, Pharma & Healthcare Sales, Americas Region.
With a growing network of 35 GDP-certified branches across the globe, JAS has made significant investments in people, digital technology, and infrastructure in support of its strategy to provide the best quality logistics services for customers of the pharma and healthcare industry.
