JAS is proud to announce that Hugo Cardenas has joined the JAS Family as the JAS Mexico Air Freight Director this past December.
Mr. Cardenas has an Industrial Engineer degree with almost 30 years of career experience, 15 years with a global technology company where he managed different positions in engineering, finance planning, domestic logistics, warehousing, corporate audit and import/exports operations. Hugo has 15 years of experience in global forwarding, leading in positions such as Branch Manager, flight operations, perishables development, global accounts, and country head of Air Freight. Additionally Cardenas has managed air freight trade and trade lane development for global and regional accounts throughout his career in Mexico.

JAS Motorsport Logistics in collaboration with JAS South Africa were nominated as lead logistics providers for the Kyalami 9 Hour event held as part of the Intercontinental GT Series which visited our shores in November 2019. Our teams were revved up to be involved in this iconic event, which last took place at Kyalami in 1982, and surely will once again become a key event in the South African Motorsport calendar.

JAS Worldwide, together with their business partner Global Airlift Solutions, has managed another successful and urgent charter operation from the USA to China carrying important medical and Coronavirus outbreak relief goods.
The Boing 747-400 departed on Saturday Feb 21 2020 from the Chicago O' Hare International Airport and arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Sunday Feb 23rd at 16:51 local time. The plane carried 100 tons of freight, of which 50% were relief goods such as facial masks and disinfectants.

JAS APAC is excited to announce Marco Pinzani as the new Trade Lane Manager from Italy to South East Asia, a new role created to enable JAS to better serve the needs of our customers shipping between Italy and SE Asia.
JAS is excited to continue to have Marco Pinzani and his extensive experience as part of the JAS Team. Mr. Pinzani previously served as Route Development Manager for Italy in Hong Kong and Trade Lane Manager for Italy based in Dubai.

This program lasts several weeks and puts participants through simulations, experiential activities, and case studies. JAS Projects Italy is proud to announce that they have successfully performed shipments for approx. 10.000 FRT. in 2019. The majority of these shipments came from Italy to Mozambique.
All cargo has been moved via regular FCL service by dry containers and special equipment, in particular, open top and flat rack out of gauge. Many shipments consist of on ro-ro cargo such as Terex Cranes and Merlo Machines.
These shipment contracts are related to the Mozambique LNG Projects, for the construction of 2 onshore LNG trains in Afungi (Palma).
With the success of these many shipments JAS is excited to see JAS Projects continue to assist in Afungi projects in the future. There will be new and interesting perspectives for 2020 as JAS Projects Italy plans to bid for the main Tender for another Afungi Project.
Starting February 1st 2020, Jetsys Lavado assumed the position of National Sales Manager for JAS Peru. Jetsys has been working in JAS as Customs Broker Manager for the last 3 years, growing this product exponentially.
Jetsys Lavado has been a logistics professional since 2001 where she started work at PESQUERA PIZARRO (Seafood Exportation – perishables cargo) when she was 19 years old, as a Management Assistant, her main function was to support the sales team in purchase order generation, developing quoting and negotiation skills with the Logistics suppliers to improve rates whit in supply chain. Then she started working at GLOBAL PHOENIX TRADE, a trading company that operates in China (where the head office is) and Perú, dedicated to the sale of steel coils and plates, her main achievement was the acquisition of top customers for the company.
The conjuncture of the changes in customs regulations and being in the last cycles of her studies in Foreign trade and Customs at ADEX (Institute of the Exporters Association) made her interested in knowing more about that process, it was then in 2005 she started working at AUSA ADUANAS S.A, the first in the ranking of customs agencies nationwide in Perú, where she started as a commercial assistant and made that a professional career until becoming the Commercial Chief and having a team of 20 people under her leadership, her main achievement was the development and implementation of the integral Logistic Service department, services implemented for TIENDAS PERUANAS & SUPERMERCADOS PERUANOS, (HOME CENTER), COMPAÑÍA INTERNACIONAL DEL CAFÉ and PERHUSA- ALTOMAYO putting into practice her knowledge of management development and applied Logistics acquired from her studies in Business Administration at the Private University SJB, and also Supply Chain Managment program at CENTRUM, consolidating her knowledge in Door-to-door service, warehousing, distribution and 4PL.
After 10 years in AUSA, she was hired by Antares Logistics (NYK Carrier Network) as Senior Sales Executive, where she managed the APAC trade lane and obtained important results such as the acquisition of the back to school campaigns, after that she was hired by MIQ Logistics (now Noatum Logistics, it was Complete Acquisition of the Multinational MIQ Logistics) as Business Development Manager, having as main responsibility be the implementation of the integral logistics department.
Jetsys has been part of the JAS team since 2017, developing door-to-door services, consolidating local negotiations and managing cross-selling with the sales team. JAS is proud to have Jetsys as the new Sales Manager for Peru. Please join us in welcoming her.

Flexible Working Arrangement of China and Hong Kong on 3rd to 7th February
To scale down the number of staffs in office and reduce the spread of novel coronavirus in the community, we have planned work-from-home flexible arrangement for all offices during 3rd to 7th February.
During 3rd to 7th February, all China branches (including those which will commence operation on 10th February) will arrange skeleton staff team to work in office to support business operation, while the rest of the staff will work from home. In Hong Kong Branch, operation teams will be split into two teams and work on rotation basis, while Logistics team will remain full support on site.
Following the flexible working arrangement, Sales team members in China and Hong Kong will work from home with 100% connectivity to business mails and can be reached via mobile shall there be any urgent business enquiries from customers. All staffs have the connectivity to business mail, we will try our best endeavors to maintain our business service to make sure clients’ needs will be fulfilled in due course..
China Market Updates on Air and Ocean Operation
We are carefully monitoring the situation in regard to all carriers, terminals, customs, warehouse, trucking service and booking agents of cities where JAS offices are presented.
In Greater China (except Hubei province ports, including Wuhan), the majority of container operations, including those at the terminals, depots, and other facilities, continue to operate as usual over the Lunar New Year holiday period. For ports other than Hubei province ports, vessels are still maintaining their normal port calls and operations. New bookings to/from all ports in Hubei province are temporarily suspended, and our staff will continue to liaise with customers who have shipments already in progress to discuss the most appropriate course of action for these.
At time of writing, the majority of passenger airlines have suspended flights to and from China (mainland without Hong Kong) during February and March with further updates to follow during the weeks to come. The freighter carriers have cancelled several flights but will be operating on a special flight schedule after the extended Lunar New Year period. Until further notice, live animals (AVI) will no longer be accepted for carriage on routes to and from China (mainland).
Air and Ocean Carriers:
Both Air and Ocean Carriers continue to monitor the situation and assess the need for potential network capacity adjustments to cater for any short-term changes in demand out of China. We will update you as soon as information becomes available

JAS China Sales team have closely communicated with clients during CNY holidays to identify their business needs during week of 3rd February, especially for clients with manufacturing sites in China. The team will continue to work both internally and externally to ensure clients’ requirement will be fulfilled.

The certificate was conferred to JAS by Dr. John Joseph, Hon’ble Chairman – CBIC (The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs) during a commemoration ceremony held at the Customs House in New Delhi.
AEO certification provides businesses with an internationally recognized security standard and certifies an entity as a secure and reliable trade partner.
Globally, AEO certification is gradually evolving into an industry standard for claiming eligibility to any administrative and governmental discretions, priority and facilitation. After a month of precision planning and coordination, JAS India and JAS Spain synchronized their efforts and moved an Airbus H-125 helicopter from the Barcelona airport to the Delhi airport.
The Helicopter is the Eurocopter AS350 Écureuil, now known as Airbus Helicopters H-125, is a single-engine light utility helicopter which was originally designed and manufactured in France.
The customer in India was very happy with the service and were delighted with the on time delivery of the helicopter on schedule and with no issues. This was a result of the detailed planning and coordination of the JAS India team with the JAS Spain team as well as with the local service providers like the client's customs broker, transporter, and customs authorities. All the necessary documentation was processed in accordance to the local laws and well in advance of deadlines so that there was no room for any delay at any point.
Because of this detailed and precise planning, JAS India delivered the helicopter to their customer on time as indicated at the time of delivery at the time of quotation which was almost 20 days prior to the execution date.
JAS China is pleased to announce its partnership with two of the world's top fast fashion groups. Fast fashion refers to fashion retailers who are able to move from the catwalk to retail market quickly.
Starting in 2019 JAS began providing green store delivery using electric vehicles for these businesses, covering more than 40 shops in 5 cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Langfang, and Tangshan in North China. The estimated volume being transported is currently at 20,000 CBM/year, with the the store delivery service in Beijing having an on-time delivery performance of 99% specifically.
All by means of electric vehicles, JAS China picks up the replenishment from the warehouse, delivers to the stores across Beijing city, and sends back the empty recycling boxes to the warehouse.
The service is offered non-stop, year-round, with a maximum of 3-4 deliveries per day for each shop. This model helps our clients to reduce warehouse space in their retail space and receive replenishment of inventory quick enough to support their sales, all while reaching the carbon dioxide reduction target.
Starting in October 2019, JAS China started the second wave of the green energy vehicle store delivery service. JAS picks up cargo from the client at the PEK airport area and then extended the delivery from just Beijing to the client’s additional shops in Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Langfang, and Tangshan.
Thanks to the fast development of electric vehicle technology, JAS China is helping our clients switch delivery service to a green model in order to protect our environment not only in North China, but also in the whole country.
