Main Roads Western Australia has now confirmed the Fremantle Traffic Bridge will close on 1st February 2026 for up to 12 months.

• Off-peak delivery scheduling
• Intermodal rail options via Forrestfield & Kenwick terminals
• Strategic use of 2nd and 3rd free days at the port

During the time of the build, you can expect:

• 15 intersections along Stirling Highway being modified
• 18 new real-time monitoring devices installed
• Permanent incident response teams stationed on both sides of Swan River
• Government encouraging intermodal rail and off-peak freight operations
