A major Latin American tool manufacturer and retailer with approximately 1,000 employees was seeking greater efficiency in its logistics operations. The company’s primary trade lane is from APAC to Mexico, with weekly shipments ranging from 20-30 TEUs. Having partnered with JAS for more than five years, the client was looking to enhance its supply chain visibility.
As the customer grew, they needed a more efficient way to track shipments. While JAS SmartHub improved visibility, their team still manually transferred shipment data into their system, leading to delays and occasional errors due to human error. With no existing integration, both teams saw the need for an automated solution to streamline data flow.
JAS’s Customer Solutions Group (CSG) developed and implemented an API integration between the customer’s system and JAS SmartHub. Over five months, both teams collaborated to build the integration from the ground up, eliminating manual entry and reducing errors.
The integration also leveraged JAS’s partnerships with major ocean carriers, ensuring up-to-date and accurate shipment information.
With the new API integration, the customer gained real-time access to the latest shipment data without requiring manual input. This resulted in:
- Increased efficiency – Employees no longer had to manually update information, freeing up time for higher-value tasks.
- Improved accuracy – The automated system reduced data inconsistencies and ensured real-time updates.
- Seamless carrier integrations – The client benefited from JAS’s direct connections with leading ocean carriers, enhancing shipment visibility.
