JAS is proud to announce that Rogelio Terrones was appointed as Head of the JAS Mexico City branch. Rogelio has been with JAS for 2 years as a Global Account Director and is now in charge of one of the most important branches in Mexico and one of the biggest offices of the entire region.
Along with the appointment of Terrones, JAS Mexico is also happy to announce that the Mexico City Branch has also moved to a beautiful new location.
With excellent new leadership and an all new office location, JAS Mexico is re-enforcing its presence in business development in the central region of Mexico.

JAS takes pride in contributing to the communities we live in and share with our customers and neighbors. It is an important part of JAS' Social Responsibility to dedicate time each year to give back to those in need. JAS Panama prides itself rising to the occasion and making an impact in their community and is committed to giving back to the neighborhood that they are a part of and do so annually. This year as a way to give back to those in need JAS Panama joined together to give to children undergoing treatments at the local hospital.
On October 24th, the JAS Panama team joined together to be God-Parents of the week and bring gifts and other donations to children in the hospital during the Week of Prevention against Burns. Preparations for this event went on for over a month prior to the 24th, and it was a privilege to contribute to the happiness and well being of the beautiful children and amazing staff of this hospital. JAS knows that if we all work together, we can make the world a better place.
JAS is proud to be a part of such a wonderful effot and we look forward to continuing to do our part with the communities and people we live and work with! JAS India was proud to have had the opportunity to welcome the JAS USA Management Team to their incredible country for the first time this past August, from the 27th to the 31st. These dates coincided with the annual JAS India Country meeting held at the JAS India Headquarters in Gurugram. This meeting brought together Mr.Eugenio Fumo - CEO of JAS USA, Mr.Alberto Bruni - COO of JAS USA, Mr.Tomas Sonntag - EVP of APAC, and the India senior management team which was hosted by the Managing Director Mr.Soman Rajiv Nair.
The meeting was centered around the rapid development between both subsidiaries and the opportunities the market continues to lead to. Deliberations during the meeting helped both countries gain insights into how customers from both countries can benefit from what each subsidiary has to offer.
With the ongoing global trade wars, India is being looked at as a potential sourcing base, something JAS USA and JAS India spent time delving into and exploring during this time of collaboration. As customers seek new solutions, JAS is on the forefront to investigate and find those answers. With a global network that spans 90 countries, including India and the United States, with more than 323 individual offices, JAS is able to use this expansive network to provide unparalleled service to clients. This focus on delivering and developing the best opportunities for clients is what drives JAS to continue to collaborate and develop new and existing trade lanes to better serve our clients.

As we move into the last part of the year and into a new year JAS Peru is staying committed to developing new products that can generate value-added services that can provide customers with better solutions and make them more profitable. That is why this year JAS Peru began the implementation of ILS or Integrated Logistic Service platform, this platform gives JAS customers absolute control of their operations at a local level.
The ILS platform's concept houses both service import and service export cost structures and logistic control under one roof. Allowing JAS clients to receive one single bill for multiple services, and allowing greater efficiency and more savings at the local supply chain level, as well as giving them more control over their shipments. This includes customs clearance, local transport, carriers fees, etc. Many JAS customers have taken advantage of this initiative and have been able to consolidate and gain better operational control over thier local supply chain, giving them better container flow.
This initiative in Peru has been spearheaded by Customs Manager, Jetsys Lavado, along with the commercial team, who have been a tremendous support as more clients have joined the program.

JAS Chile is happy to announce that the Santiago branch recently got a complete upgrade to their office space. Adding more modern style to the workspace as well as giving the office an overall more comfortable atmosphere. The new design allows for increased natural light and common spaces that can be utilized for open meetings and collaboration. These upgrades improve not only the aesthetics of the office but allow employees to more efficiently, and enjoyably, communicate and work together to achieve their goals.

In November of 2018, The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced their consent for explosive detection canine teams to become registered Security Program holders under the Certified Cargo Screening Program-K9. This program allows airlines and freight forwarders to utilize private sector canine teams as a primary screening resource, essentially reducing time and costs compared to other screening methods.
JAS Forwarding (USA) has long been a member of the TSAs Certified Cargo Screening Program and currently has CCSF (Certified Cargo Screening Facility) locations in all major gateways. “While we currently utilize XRAY and ETD technology as our primary screening methods, there are still inefficiencies in the screening process that can slow down a CCSF and add unnecessary labor costs and time,” explains Sommer Sampson, Corporate Principle Security Coordinator at JAS. “Most palletized cargo must be screened at the individual piece level. Therefore, it’s taken apart and screened piece-by-piece, then put back together. With a dog…this all goes away,” says Sampson. The 3PK9 Program allows canines to screen entire pallets without being broken down, reducing screening time from hours to minutes.
Whether a loading dock, aircraft, warehouse, or Unit Load Device, canines are specifically trained to quickly assess any and all areas for potential explosive threats without business disruption. Canines have proven to be the most effective means to screen shipments comprised of multiple commodities. In some cases (e.g. drums, perishable products) they are the ONLY effective means available.
JAS Forwarding (USA) has been working closely with TSA on implementing this new program, by inviting them out to JAS stations for live demos and trials. While canine screening has been present with passenger airlines for years, it is new to the air cargo arena and, therefore, new to TSA inspection authorities as well. JAS was one of the first freight forwarders approved to conduct trials in its major Gateways and is now successfully using canines as a primary screening method. Sampson remarks “This will no doubt be a game changer for the industry and we look forward to being a part of that.”
