JAS Worldwide recently hosted its JAS After Hours event following the Transport Logistic trade show on May 11.

JAS Worldwide recently hosted its JAS "After Hours" networking event following the Transport Logistic Munich on 10 May 2023, providing a unique opportunity for their customers to build relationships and network in a more personal setting.

Over 200 attendees were able to relax, socialize, and enjoy an evening of cocktails and conversations. The event provided a more informal setting for customers to connect with JAS representatives, vendors, and other customers in attendance.

"Our goal was to offer our customers a unique networking experience," explained Jennifer Jinadu-Wright, Vice President, Global Marketing. "Everyone is used to coming to a trade show and having meetings at the booth. One thing we have learned over the last few years is the importance of human connections. So we thought, why don't we do something different and allow our customers to connect with us in a more intimate setting and meet other people at JAS."

JAS believes that building strong relationships with its customers is key to its success. The JAS After Hours event was designed to provide an opportunity to take customer relationships to the next level. "At JAS, we firmly believe that being customer-centric goes beyond mere transactions and involves building personal connections with our customers, and JAS After Hours is a clear testament to our commitment to doing so," said Manuele Mazzacurati, EVP Global Sales & Marketing. "We understand that our customers are more than just clients, and are committed to developing meaningful relationships, which drives our mutual success."

After two years of social distancing imposed by the pandemic, Mr. Leonardo Baldi, JAS Italy CEO, organized the 2022 Annual Mid-Year Management Meeting.

At this meeting, the JAS Italy Management Team was provided with further results and directions, along with highly detailed market updates, thanks to the incredible participation of our Airline and Steam Ship Line Partners.

During the meeting the team also celebrated the retirement of JAS Italy colleagues: Franco Pinzani (Ocean Freight Director) and Maurizio Pedrinazzi (Airfreight Director). Together with two very special guests Mr. Biagio Bruni, JAS Chairman & Founder, and Mr. Graeme Robinson, EVP Operations of JAS Worldwide, we all congratulated with them on this important milestone.

Such a special occasion required a prestigious location. The FERRARI Maranello Museum was selected not only because of its beautiful location, but because it exemplifies the spirit and message given from Mr. Baldi to the entire management team: “Teamwork and continued improvement to achieve our goals.”

International Women’s Day: An Interview with Lisa Simon

Throughout March, in honor of International Women's Day (March 8), we are celebrating some of the remarkable women at JAS. Today, we are honored to highlight Lisa Simon, Regional Account Manager at JAS Germany.

What does International Women's Day and its theme this year, #BreakTheBias, mean to you?

International Women's Day to me is a day to celebrate all the incredible woman around the world regardless of their professional status, personal success or nationality.

#BreakTheBias to me means that walls between certain people/ genders must be broken down. The truth is we all need each other, and we are all equal.

How do you #BreakTheBias?

We must all treat everyone equally. I teach my kids to be open-minded regardless of culture, color, language, or gender. It is important to foster an understanding that an individual’s background or personal success doesn't make them better than anyone else.

What advice do you have for other women entering the industry?

Stay true to yourself, and don't try to duplicate others. There are a lot of inspiring people within this industry, but everyone has to find their way to be credible.

How have female mentors/role models influenced your career?

Female mentors have always taught me how to balance my personal and professional life. Success is not about controlling things around us, it is about balance and the ability to combine personal and professional goals and living a happy life.

JAS Pharma & Healthcare Conducts Webinar

JAS’ webinar was one of the most anticipated webinar series for pharma and healthcare logistics.

Merck & Co (known as MSD outside of North America), Sonoco ThermoSafe, and JAS are all three very different companies, but they gathered together on February 22, 2022, to discuss the coming era of pharma and healthcare logistics. Moderated by David Bang, EVP Pharma & Healthcare at JAS, the panel consisted of David Komjati, Director Logistics Transformation at Merck & Co, Ben VanderPlas, Director of Engineering and R&D at Sonoco ThermoSafe, and Graeme Robinson, EVP Operations and Product at JAS.

Major disruptions are followed by an accelerated increase or decrease of specific policies, technologies, practices, and even human behaviors. As we are at the pivot point in between the last two years of pandemic and the next years of recovery, the panelists shared how they see the breakdown of the barriers to respond to lack of visibility into inventory status, location, and production process for pharma and healthcare products across the entire ecosystem. Also, practically speaking, we must deal with the upfront challenges such as congestion, capacity, labor shortage, supply shortage, etc. that are expected to continue in 2022 and well into 2023.

Merck & Co has been in the forefront of transformative development using IoT devices, clouds, and other technologies for some time and will share what the next evolution will be at Merck & Co. Sonoco ThermoSafe, from research and engineering perspectives, is working on numerous projects that have themes of sustainability, autonomy, real-time, and integration as well and added nicely how a company like Sonoco ThermoSafe has been navigating so far and is planning to adapt to a new norm.

JAS, as a global logistics provider connecting many dots with data and physical touches, has critical roles to play in the coming years and shared how it is preparing for future disruptions based on lessons learned and how it is reimagining the world of pharma and healthcare logistics in the next few years to come, closely collaborating with customers and partners.

Biagio Bruni Speaks at AGORA 2021 Conference

The rapidly evolving pandemic, combined with the continued poor performance of carriers aggravated by growing demand for goods, has highlighted how fragile supply chains are due to globalization and delocalization. In fact, it has brought to the fore the phenomena of Reshoring/Nearshoring. This has accelerated the development of E-Commerce in Italy and has increased the importance of the "Made in Italy"  brand and the positioning of Italy within the global supply chain. (Source: Alsea Report in collaboration with Osservatorio Export Digitale del Politecnico di Milano).

JAS is always looking ahead to prepare for market changes and ways to serve our customers better. As a part of these efforts, JAS recently completed the acquisition of Tigers. With its long-standing expertise in both the Contract Logistics and E-Commerce sectors combined with its sophisticated IT systems, JAS will be able to provide logistical support and communicate digitally with our customers. In addition, these new systems will allow JAS to collaborate with customers to coordinate transit times and transport modes which will help customers' reduce CO2 emissions and the overall environmental impact.

With this objective, JAS has increased its usage of FCL rail service between China and Italy, transporting individual units or organizing block trains reserved entirely for JAS. Eco-sustainable, with low environmental impact, the service offers a competitive transit time when compared with current maritime services. Furthermore, as a part of the efforts to help customers reduce their CO2 emissions, JAS has increased the use of FCL rail services on the CHINA-ITALY section, transporting individual units or coordinating block trains entirely reserved for JAS. Eco-sustainable, with low environmental impact, the service currently offers a competitive transit time compared to current maritime services.

In further news, to better serve our customer's needs in this rapidly changing environment, on July 14, 2021, JAS Italy completed the acquisition of the company Bossi & C. Transiti S.p.A.. Specializing in the maritime field and headquartered in Genoa, branches will operate out of Verona and Vercelli while maintaining a commercial/operational office in Hong Kong.

Brand «Made in Italy», posizionando l’Italia «nelle catene globali del valore».

Biagio Bruni Keynotes Agora 2020 Conference

NORTH AMERICA – EUROPA - NORTH AMERICA

For the third year in a row, CONFETRA is organizing AGORA’ 2020.   JAS will be contributing to this important event with the Keynote Speaker Mr. Biagio Bruni.

This is the ideal forum for exchanging ideas and to discuss the current turmoil in the world of commerce which will cause deep changes for all industries and their supply chains, particularly for the international transportation of goods. Everything will be affected, the POST COVID-19 world will be full of challenges and opportunities for Italy and its Industries.

The health crisis caused by COVID-19, greatly affected the whole Air Transportation sector starting from the first few days of March 2020. Supply Chains around the world were completely disrupted.

Despite the very difficult moment, JAS was able to anticipate the market needs quickly establishing a series of JAS CHARTER FLIGHTS to cover any supply chain gap for its clients, as well as Italian and International institutions.

JAS recently decided to expand the investment creating what we now call “JAS FLIGHT OPERATIONS” on the most important Trade-Lanes.

The service is already operational in one of the most important air freight corridors which is also one of the most impacted by the cancellation of many passenger flights:

NORTH AMERICA – EUROPE – NORTH AMERICA

Other flight corridors will be served with Charter Flights which will be organized depending on the market needs.
