Nokia Networks project cargo to Ecuador filling up a Boeing 747F.
JAS Ecuador and JAS Forwarding (Neth.) b.v. have recently handled a project load of NOKIA Networks telecommunication equipments for JAS Ecuador's customer Consorcio Ecuatoriano de Telecommunicaciones S.A. - EMSA (CONECEL).
The project, which saw its birth in February 2003, has been successfully carried out thanks to the close cooperation and synergy between the two JAS offices.
Different kinds of telecommunication equipments such as Antennas (dishes), Power Supplies and Terminals for Ecuador's mobile phone network needed to be shipped.
Due to the dImensions of some of the antennas, the only common type of aircraft capable of carrying them was a Boeing 747F-200. Therefore, JAS Netherlands and Polar Air Cargo teamed up in taking this challenge.
The entire cargo was moved from Nokia's EDC located in Roosendaal, The Netherlands, to Polar Air Cargo's own warehouse at Amsterdam airport using twelve trailers.
The aircraft was fully loaded with 39 pallets, for a total gross weight of 66 tons, 550 cubic meters, without any space to spare on board.
At h. 10.30 of April 13th, 2005, the flight PO 5468 took off from Amsterdam directed to New York, to continue its journey to Guayaquil International Airport to finally reach its destination at Quito Mariscal Sucre Airport.
Sticking to "Just ask, we'll do it!" and sharing with JAS Ecuador the efforts to keep up with such a demanding task, we have made it.
