JAS Worldwide Meeting 2011

June 8, 2011

Share Our Vision.
After many months of planning and execution, the 2011 JAS Worldwide Conference is finally over. The first one was held in Los Angeles in 1995 and this one, the 6th such event, was convened in Atlanta on Monday, the 18th of April. The choice of venue, and the meeting tag line of “Share Our Vision”, were inextricably linked throughout the 4 days the Management of the company spent together.

After hearing a few warm words of welcome from our Chairman and founder, Mr. Bruni, Marco Rebuffi’s speech on the morning of Day 1 clearly outlined what the company has achieved since the last meeting in Johannesburg in 2007. Much has been accomplished, although as for many companies, 2009 was certainly an inhibitor of some of the progress we had enjoyed the two prior years. Nevertheless, the global footprint we now have and the resurgent 2010 means the company is in a stronger position than it has ever been to face the challenges ahead. The past was not forgotten though, and the retirement of the long serving Sergio Bariviera, our EVP of Asia, was formalized. The recent past was also noted, and special thanks was given to all team members of the Barfield (WW Campus) project, and specifically Tahira Fumo, Mark Baker and Alberto Bruni.
However, it was Marco’s sharing of his vision for the future that attracted the most attention. Emphasizing his desire to build a better company, something echoed by all later presenters, he spelled out in precise terms the journey ahead for the company in terms of our Global and Regional strategies as well as the ambitious plans already underway for the Vertical Markets. Several new Executives have been appointed in the last few years to strengthen the company in strategically vital areas of our business, such as Global Sales, Legal, Oil and Energy, and Projects as well as key geographical areas and regions.

The new JAS Worldwide Campus was the realized ”Vision” which JAS Worldwide wished to share. Indeed, the home of JAS Worldwide and JAS USA, as of January this year, provided a spectacular backdrop for a luncheon event on the Lawn - but only after each of the conference participants had received a tour of the magnificent facility. The size and detail in all aspects of the campus buildings made a clear statement that the company is very aware of where we are today and how we see our growth plans for the future.

One of the biggest and most important aspects of the entire event was the ability of our Management teams to interact and talk freely as colleagues with each other as well as with members of Management from our exclusive agents. Communication is key within any company and especially so in one that is a growing company. It was for this reason that a recreation day was arranged at a nearby hotel resort. At the final night's dinner, older colleagues were proud as Mr. Bruni closed the meeting to a standing ovation and our new colleagues became part of the family. It is now the duty of everyone of the Management members present to “Share Our Vision” with all employees worldwide as we stride confidently into the next era of JAS.

We look forward, not only to the years ahead, but also to the next WW conference - already scheduled for the fall of 2013, in Brasil. See you in Rio!
Best regards,
Graeme Robinson
