190 tons transformer transported from Baltimore to Antwerp.
Recently JAS Houston (IAH) moved a 190 metric ton transformer for export to Antwerp. Being that this unit is ‘emergency rental unit’, time was of the essence.
Due to excellent connections and extensive rail experience, JAS USA was able to get the railcar clearance for this ‘special train’ and secured the space with the ocean carrier as needed by the customer. To make matters more complicated, this unit has to be railed with one of the specialized ‘Schnabel’ railcars which had to be ordered in the required time frame as well.
The transformer made it to the port in time, was transferred to a specialized heavy duty Mafi trailer and loaded upon the vessel without a hitch.
This proves again that no transport challenge is too big or too complicated for the projects team in Houston, lead by Ingo Schmidt and Sergio Chiccoli.
