Rolls Royce AB assigns JAS Sweden the transportation of two 21 meters propeller shafts from Sweden to Spain.
In March 2007 JAS Forwarding Scandinavia AB were entrusted with an important shipment from Sweden to Spain for their new customer Rolls Royce AB. The shipment consisted of 2 propeller shafts with a length of 21,5 meters and a weight of 28 tons per shaft.
The cargo was loaded on trailer in Kristinehamn, Sweden (about 250 km from the Swedish port) on special trailers that would deliver the shafts to the consignee in Vigo, Spain.
The trailers were loaded on Monday 5th March and were delivered to the ships wharf in Vigo on 15th March without being double handled to avoid any damages to the goods.
All permits and necessary arrangements were done long prior to the transport and as such JAS once again delivered know how and timing to its customer. The cargo was under a specific time frame as a vessel was waiting at the wharf for the shafts.
To avoid long road transport and to reduce environmental pollution to a minimum, JAS Sweden made a choice to use a combination of road and sea transport to bring the cargo to destination.
In the words of Johan Björklund, Regional Managing Director for the Scandinavia Region: "Again, a tailor made special shipment handled by the JAS organization for the satisfaction of one of its customer".
