JAS Forwarding in Sweden nominated for transport of major improvement in Gothenburg port

The port in Gothenburg is the largest container port in Scandinavia and is weekly visited by global lines such as Wilhelmsen, ACL and Maersk.

On its shortsea leg the port decided to invest in a new ramp for one of the fast ferries calling Gothenburg daily, with departures to Northern continent.

A customer of JAS Sweden, namely TTS Ships Equipment AB, turned to JAS in Sweden for assistance in moving a complete newly built Linkspan (Ramp) in Tallin to the section in Gothenburg port called Alvsborgs hamnen.

The ramp itself consists of one major piece 115 metric tonnes and dimensions of 24,0 x 14,0 x 4,0 meters (L x W x H).

JAS Sweden found a solution to the need and chartered a vessel for the occasion and same loaded in Tallin in Estonia on October 18, arriving in Gothenburg at 5.00am last Friday October 21.

JAS undertook the job in full, including the physical loading of the piece as well as securing the loading on board the vessel and monitoring the discharge in Gothenburg.

TTS Ships Equipment is one of the world leaders as far as manufacturing Linkspans and ramps for ro/ro tonnage worldwide are concerned.
