The newly established JAS Forwarding (Scandinavia) AB has recently and successfully handled a project load from Sweden to Canada for its customer FMT AB in Trelleborg.
FMT manufactures gangways for aircraft industry and has also successfully developed so called Passenger Loading Bridges for cruise ships, establishing themself among the American ports from Boston in the north of USA's east coast, to San Diego on the American west coast.
The recently handled shipment consisted of 7 pieces about 80 metric tonnes and 773 cbm. To charter a vessel for this relatively low volume was much too expensive and a result of JAS Sweden's endeavors to meet its customer's need for cost-saving, our colleagues found a way of reducing costs by using liner tonnage to Canada. As such the cargo was brought by low-loading trailers from Trelleborg, about 250 km south of Gothenburg, for shipment to Halifax in Canada and again by low-loading trailer to its destination port of St. John, New Brunswick in Canada.
Jas Sweden was involved in every aspect of the project, from the loading on trailers in Trelleborg to site delivery. An essential part was to make sure that cargo was properly and sea worthily secured on the units and onboard the ship during the voyage.

The people involved in this shipment were Mr. Denis Couroux, Branch Manager of JAS in Montreal and Mr. Johan Bjorklund, Managing Director of JAS in Sweden.
The brilliant result of the synergy between JAS Gothenburg and JAS Canada shows the many possibilities of the JAS organization to successfully face the challenges from very demanding customers, such as FMT Sweden. No doubt a happy customer who will be more and more relying on JAS Sweden for further project to Port Everglades, Miami and Mobile in the USA.
