JAS Forwarding moves agricultural machinery to Venezuela

October 9, 2006

Tractors, combine harvesters, sprayers and other machines transported by JAS Argentina.

As JAS Forwarding has grown in different regional markets in the interior of Argentina, the company entered into a contract with 40 small-and middle-sized companies of the Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Santa Fé provinces to be in charge of the logistics of the export of agricultural machinery bound to Venezuela, which comprises 40,000 sq m and 1,000 TEUS, and will be sent in 5 successive shipments.

The exportation, made up of tractors, combine harvesters and sprayers, among other equipment, involved a complex planning requiring more than a year, to transport the units from each production plant to the port – taking into account the location and access to the factories, and the characteristics of each machinery – and from the port they were shipped to the Cabello port in Venezuela. Furthermore, as containerized and rolling cargo was included, a vessel meeting both conditions was required, as well as containers from Santo, Rio Grande and Montevideo and those available in the Buenos Aires port.

"We are very proud of having been chosen as suppliers of the international logistics for each one of the manufacturing companies of agriculture machinery, most of which participate in their first export experience." commented Javier Salip, managing director of Jas Forwarding Argentina.

The executive also pointed out that "this kind of operations shows the excellent results of the expansion strategy that Jas Forwarding has implemented in the interior of the country for almost 10 years in which we have been working in Argentina."
