Glass windows transportation is dealt with care by JAS Scandinavia
Glass and windows are always tricky to handle, even more so if unpacked and when delivery time is a factor. This task was given to JAS Scandinavia a few months back in time by its customer Skandinaviska Glassystem AB: the scope of work was to arrange a complete trailer loads every third day from manufacturing plant in Sweden to a site north of Copenhagen were a new building for a bank is under construction.
JAS Sweden sat down with its vendors and together found solutions to the needs and as such every third day a complete trailer is placed in a town about 100 km north of Gothenburg called Lysekil, where loading is performed at factory; after a few changes the cargo is loaded in such a way that 95 % of the capacity of the trailer is used. Loading takes about one hour and the load is ready for departure.
Loading of trailers are done late afternoon day one and delivery is made to construction site at 08.00 next morning to meet the demands by the customs and its representatives, who also bear the responsibility to place the glass frames into the building which in its turn is build in sequences.
"All in all, it is a matter of paying attention to the customers needs, mutually discuss, understand and get focused on the task" says Johan Bjorklund, Regional Managing Director of JAS Forwarding Scandinavia.
